Abstraksi

ABSTRAKSI: Video conference adalah suatu sistem yang memungkinkan dua orang atau lebih di tempat yang berbeda untuk berkomunikasi satu sama lain dengan menampilkan gambar / video dari lawan bicaranya. Sistem tersebut merupakan salah satu hasil dari perkembangan dalam dunia multimedia yang saat ini sedang menjadi tren baru di dunia telekomunikasi. Diharapkan dengan menerapkan sistem video conference di suatu perusahaan, maka dapat memberikan solusi komunikasi yang praktis dan effisien untuk meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan tersebut.<br>Dalam tugas akhir ini, sistem video conference dirancang dan diimplementasikan di Kantor Pusat Perum Pegadaian. Sistem yang dibangun berbasis sistem operasi Linux dengan metode centralized conference yang terdiri dari beberapa room conference. Hal ini dikarenakan Kantor Pusat Perum Pegadaian telah bermigrasi total baik dari sisi server maupun client ke sistem operasi Linux dan sistem centralized conference dinilai paling cocok untuk diterapkan di lingkungan kantor . Fedora 6 kernel 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 dipilih sebagai sistem operasi yang digunakan sebagai server dengan menggunakan Asterisk dan video mixer sebagai software engine focus. Fokus disini merupakan unit kontrol untuk mengendalikan sistem video conference. <br>Dari hasil pengujian dan analisa performansi sistem, didapat bahwa kualitas audio dan video yang didapatkan cukup dapat diterima. Nilai maksimal parameter QoS yang didapat dari sistem yaitu sebesar 9.4534 ms untuk jitter dan 1.162 % untuk packet loss masih dibawah batas maksimum yang distandarkan ITU-T. Maka disimpulkan sistem ini dapat berfungsi dengan baik.Kata Kunci : Video conference, Asterisk, Video mixerABSTRACT: Video conference is a system that make possible two or more people at different place to communicated each other with show the video from the others. The system is one of the results of advancement in multimedia technology, that now becoming a trend in telecommunication. Hopefully, implement the video conference system can give solution in practical and easy communication to increase the company ability.<br>On this final thesis, video conference system was designed and implemented on Central office of Pegadaian Public Company. The system based on Linux Operating System with centralized conference method that consists of some room’s conference. This is because both all of computer server and client on central office of Pegadaian public company have been migrated to Linux Operating System and centralized conference method was suitable for office environment. Fedora 6 kernel 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 was chose as operating system which use as server with Asterisk and video mixer as focus software engine. Focus is control unit to manage video conference system.<br>From the result of system performance analysis, the audio and video quality for the system is fair. Maximum value of QoS parameter is 9.4534 ms for jitter and 1.162 % for packet loss still on ITU-T standard recommendation. So, the conclude is system can function nicely.Keyword: Video Conference, Asterisk, Video Mixer
