The study of Activity Relationship Chart has been done by previous researchers with object in manufacturing field. Activity Relationship Chart aims to determine the relationship between components with activity on the layout. Queuing or waiting lines is common in the phenomenon of life and become negative experience because it takes a lot of time. This activity is often found in public places such as filling station, supermartket, parking, hospital and so on. This study discusses the implementation of the Activity Relationship Chart study in the non-manufacturing field especially on the cashier to reduce service time. Checkout counter cashier became important to identified because nowadays, the cashier not only spread in big cities, but the cashier was also scattered in cities and towns that are developing, so it became something that deserves to be analyzed. Therefore, a further study of this type of object is required. Several observations were conducted to determine the components in the cashier, the existing layout, and the time of the existing process. Then, processed using ARC in order to know the interconnection and relationship between the components. After getting the recommendation processing time, it will be done comparison between processing time existing and recommendation. The results of this study prove that the Activity Relationship Chart is feasible to be used to design a layout design that can reduce 52.5% service time.
