Global competition in various fields requires graduates to have adequate mastery of skills and academic competencies. Mastering foreign languages, especially english language, is one of the most important skills a college must possess. Efforts to improve students’ english competency are one proof of the seriousness of an university to realize the vision of becoming a world-class university. EPRT or English Proficiency Test is one of the efforts made by Telkom University to measure the students’ english competency.The purpose of this study is to obtain information and knowledge regarding the english competency of students based on the achievement of the EPRT score.
The data used are obtained through questionnaires that distributed to industrial engineering faculty students 2014 and completed with data from the Industrial Engineering Faculty admin. The data used are EPRT score, the index English I and II subjects and GPA, which are used to measure students' english competency. The process of processing data into information is done using the knowledge conversion 5C method while the process of converting information into knowledge uses 4C method conversion knowledge.
The results of the research shows that there are students who are still lacking in english, because there are students who have not met the minimum target of EPRT until the final year. The knowledge obtained will be used as a material to design a program to improve the english competency of Industrial Engineering Faculty students.
