Waste in the city of Bandung is increasing every day due to increased activity in the city of Bandung, the waste in the city of Bandung every day can reach 1,500-1,600 tons. The waste generated in the city of Bandung has a very bad impact in various aspects. The comparison of waste generation in the city of Bandung is very unbalanced with the way of managing the waste itself which makes the environment and health in the city of Bandung very bad. Therefore, this study aims to assess and manage the Cihampelas Mandiri Waste Bank to achieve the sustainable development goal 8 based on the regulation of the minister of environment and forestry of the Republic of Indonesia number 14 of 2021 waste management at the waste bank which consists of 4 aspects, namely the management structure of the waste bank, facilities of the waste bank, performance of waste management, and partnerships. With sustainable development goal 8 in goals 8.4.
This study uses a qualitative method with the purpose of study descriptive and exploratory research, with the extent of researcher interference minimal interference, then, with the unit of analysis organization, and time horizon cross section. Methods of collecting data using observation, interviews, and documentation, which were carried out on people who had direct contact with the Cihampelas Mandiri Waste Bank, namely on 5 sources, then analyzed with data condensation, data display, and verifying conclusions.
Based on the results of this study, it shows that the management structure at the waste bank is in appropriate with the structure. facilities at the waste bank are allowed to build buildings on the river but there is no permit from the government. The performance of waste management at the waste bank increases and decreases every month. The partnership with the waste bank for now is only the Shining Waste Bank, and sustainable development goals on waste banks are already making progress.
