This research details the comprehensive design and prototyping of "Pomo-Do-Now," a mobile productivity application specifically engineered to address the time management challenges faced by Generation Z. Recognising this demographic's digital fluency and susceptibility to distraction, the app combines the well-established Pomodoro Technique with innovative gamification elements. The core objective is to provide a visually appealing, intuitive, and highly engaging tool that facilitates efficient time management and cultivates sustained productivity habits. We used a pretty thorough user-centered design methodology, which included qualitative observations and semi-structured interviews, to figure out what the users really want. And what do they want? Well, they're all about personalisation, making the most of their time, and getting a kick out of gamified experiences. These insights informed the application's features, including a customisable Pomodoro timer, robust task management capabilities, visual progress analysis, and unique social and gamification components, such as a 'Jar Collecting' system for real-time rewards and 'Streaks' for habit reinforcement. The design emphasizes a 'neo-retro fruit' aesthetic, utilizing vibrant colors and playful geometric shapes to resonate with Generation Z's visual preferences. The prototype, developed using Figma for UI/UX and Adobe Illustrator and Procreate for visual assets, demonstrates a seamless and engaging user experience. The project also outlines a comprehensive communication strategy leveraging digital platforms such as Instagram, as well as merchandise, to reach and engage the target audience effectively. Ultimately, the aim is to empower Generation Z to optimise their focus, manage their time effectively, and cultivate a more balanced and productive lifestyle.
