ABSTRAKSI: Vehicular Ad - Hoc Network (VANET) merupakan sebuah jaringan wireless routing yang menggunakan sistem berbasis ad hoc network. VANET merupakan pengembangan dari Mobile Ad - Hoc Network (MANET) yang memungkinkan komunikasi Inter Vehicle Communication (IVC) dan atau Roadside - to - Vehicle (RVC). Perbedaan VANET dengan MANET adalah adanya peraturan lalu lintas yang mengatur pergerakan mo bile node pada jaringan VANET sehingga pergerakannya ditentukan dengan pola tertentu, tidak seperti MANET yang pergerakannya bisa random tanpa ada batasan. VANET juga memiliki topologi jaringan yang lebih kompleks dan dinamis karena banyaknya rute berbeda yang bisa dilalui pengendara dengan kecepatan dan perilaku yang berbeda pula. Dengan demikian perlu dipilih protocol routing yang dinilai cocok dan efisien sehingga p engiriman dat a dapat berlangsug secara maksi mal
Tugas akhir ini menganali sis perbandingan kinerja protokol routing Ad Hoc On demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) dan Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) dalam dua lingkungan simulasi yang berbeda, yakni urban (perkotaan) dan highway (jalan tol) dengan skenario perubahan kecepatan node dan perubahan jumlah node . Simulasi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan NS - 2.34 dan traffic simulator SUMO 0.12.3 . A dapun metrik performansi yang diukur adalah Average End - to - end del ay , Normalized Routing Load, Average throughput , Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), dan Routing Overhead.
Dari hasil simulasi diperoleh bahwa kinerja protokol routing AOMDV le bih baik daripada ZRP pada kedua li n gkungan simulasi yang diujikan. AOMDV memiliki performansi lebih baik dalam setiap parameter yang diujikan terutama pada parameter routing overhead dan normalized routing load dengan rata - rata nilai masing - masing yaitu, 2,0068 dan 2,353. Selain itu berdasar dari hasil simulasi didapat ba hwa AOMDV performansinya lebih baik saat diterapkan pada lingkungan urban daripada lingkungan highway.

VANET is the development of Mobile Ad Hoc Network ( MANET ) which allows communication Inter Vehicle Communication ( IVC ) and or Roadside to Vehicle ( RVC ) . The difference of VANET and MANET is on traffic regulations that regulate the movement of mobil e nodes in VANET network so that its movement is d etermined by a specific pattern , unlike MANET can be random movement without a ny restrictions . VANET also have a more complex and dynamic network topologies because of the many different routes that can be passed rider wit h speed and different behaviors . Thus the routing protocol needs to be selected which is considered suitable and efficient so that da ta transmission can be maxmimally lasts .
This final task is to analyze the comparative performance of the routing protocols of Ad Hoc On dem and Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) and Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP ) in two different simu lation environments, namely urban (urban) and highway (toll road ) with a node speed change scenar ios and changes number of nodes . This simulation is done by using NS - 2. 34 a nd traffic simulator SUMO 0.12. . The performance metrics that measured are Av erage End - to - end delay, Normalized Routing Load, Average throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) , and Routing Overhead .
The simulation result shows that the performance of AOMDV routing protocol is better than ZRP in both environments of simulations model . AOMDV has a better performance in all parameters tested mainly on parameters normalized rou ting overhead and routing load with the av erage value of each parameter 2,0068 and 2,353. In addition, based on the simulation result obtained that AOMDV performance is better when applied to the urban environment than highway environment.
