ABSTRAKSI: KATA KUNCI: ABSTRACT: The development of batik from time to time has experienced various changes. Batik is initially only known to use as sinjang and shawl, with the changing of times, now batik has enriched many functions and styling. Batik is not just ornamentation and patterns, batik is a compositional process of patterned visual form that has meaning and significance.
Rumah Batik Komar is one of the private-owned enterprise owned by H. Komarudin Kudiya S.IP, M.Ds. engaged in the production of batik clothing. At Rumah Batik Komar company there are several workstations in the production process of batik cloth, one of which is staining workstaion. In this workstation, there are two units of work table that is used by the operator as a tool for batik coloring and there was found the ergonomics problem, which is the awkward postures of the operator when using the table.
By using the Ulrich-Eppinger’s product development process through 4 phases: planning, concept development, system level design, and detailed design, hopefully, the comprehensive product development process will create an improvements of the ergonomics aspects to reduce work accidents on operators caused by awkward postures.
The recommendations formulated based on data processing, data analysis, and brainstorming with the company parties. This case is intended to reduce work accidents caused by awkward postures. Recommendations that given are the improved batik fabrics coloring table design which adapted from the existing conditions.
