ABSTRAKSI: Industrial automation is rapidly growth nowadays. With the industrial automation, the industry can level up their production level. To avoid the number of high investment while leveling up the company production using automation it needs a way to assure it. One way to do it is to design the User Requirement Specification (URS).
The User Requirement Specification specify the needs of the end user for the automation system. URS describe from the process description, the piping and instrumentations diagram, and the control philosophy. The process description describe about how will the automation process happened in the company. The piping and instrumentations diagram (P&ID) depict about how is the layout and the instrumentations interact between each other according to the process description. As for the control philosophy describe about the hardware specification for the process automation.
To integrate the automation system designed, the programmable logic controllers (PLC) programming is needed. The plc would act as the automation process controllers. The way the instruments interact to each other would be controlled by the PLC. The PLC control the designed automation process in Cartridging Process PT Dahana (Persero). The cartridging process consists of 4 work stations : cartridge labeling, cartridge piping, cartridge filling, and product sorting and packaging. The automation process designed in only cartridge labelling and cartridge filling workstation.
From the research conducted it can be concluded that the design for User Requirement Specification (URS) and the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) program for cartridging process in PT Dahana (Persero) is successfully designed. The design resulted in process description, piping and instrumentations diagram, control philosophy, and programmable logic controllers program.
