ABSTRAKSI: Softswitch merupakan teknologi yang dirancang untuk memperbaiki kelemahan sistem switching konvensional, dan sekaligus menjembatani evolusi jaringan circuit switch/TDM (PSTN dan PLMN) menuju jaringan masa depan berbasis paket/IP dengan kemampuan layanan multiple broadband yang kemudian dikenal dengan Next Generation Networks (NGN). Sebagai teknologi baru perlu suatu metoda untuk membantu mempermudah pemahaman konsep dasar dan prinsip kerjanya.
Dalam Proyek Akhir ini dirancang suatu metoda visualisasi tentang cara kerja Softswitch khususnya dalam melayani panggilan. Lingkup pembahasannya mulai dari overview perkembangan switching, kelemahan sistem switching konvensional (yang melatar belakangi lahirnya Softswitch), konsep dasar Softswitch (arsitektur dan komponen fungsional Softswitch serta implementasinya), protokol yang digunakan khususnya dalam pemrosesan panggilan, dan call processing melalui softswitch yakni : Asal AG / access gateway (analog (AG) to analog (AG)), Asal TG / trunk gateway (analog (TG) to analog (AG)), Asal LAN.
Adapun software tools yang digunakan untuk perancangan visualisasi tersebut adalah Macromedia Flash MX 2004. Diharapkan metoda visualisasi ini dapat membantu mempermudah pemahaman cara kerja softswitch baik secara komponen maupun dalam jaringan termasuk proses komunikasi yang melibatkan softswitch khususnya untuk lingkungan akademik dalam proses belajar mengajar.Kata Kunci : SoftswitchABSTRACT: Sofswitch is a technology that created for repair the weakness of konvensional switching system, and also as a bridge of circuit switch nework evolusion to become next generation network packet/IP base with broadband multiple ability. As a new technology, it needs a methode to help understand the base concept and work principle.
This final project is created for visualization methode about the softswitch work system especially for call service. This project consist of switching development overview, the weakness of konvensional switching system, softswitch based concept (architecture and softswitch component function), the protocol used especially in call processing , and call processing pass : access gateway , trunk gateway , LAN.
Softsware tool that used in this visualization development is Macromedia Flash MX 2004. I hope this project can help studing the softswitch work system, both the component and network include the communication process that entangling softswitch especially in academic.Keyword: Sofstwitch
