ABSTRAKSI: Akhir akhir ini bercocok tanam menjadi pilihan banyak orang sebagai hobi mereka. Alasannya pun beragam, mulai dari harga yang relatif murah hingga perawatannya yang simpel. Namun, meskipun hobi ini cukup simpel, banyak orang kadang lupa untuk merawatnya. Misalnya saja, lupa menyiram tanaman yang menyebabkan tanaman tersebut layu dan mati. Padahal, penyiraman tanaman adalah salah satu faktor penting yang mempengaruhi kualitas tanaman. Hal ini sering terjadi karena padatnya jadwal aktifitas seseorang sehingga mereka lupa dengan tanaman yang mereka pelihara.
Proyek akhir ini membuat suatu alat berbasis Arduino yang berfungsi untuk memberitahu pemilik tanaman bahwa tanaman itu membutuhkan perawatan berupa pemberian air yang seringkali terlupakan oleh sang pemilik tanaman sekaligus memberikan air kepada tanaman tersebut. Di dalam perancangan dan realisasinya, alat ini dibuat dengan menggunakan Arduino dan menghubungkannya ke jejaring sosial “Twitter” sebagai output yang mana saat ini hampir semua orang sudah menggunakannya.
Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu pada saat sensor mendeteksi keadaan kering tegangan yang terukur pada kaki Collector-Emiter sebesar 0,1 Volt , hal tersebut menunjukan transistor bekerja sebagai saklar elektronik dan saat sensor mendeteksi keadaan lembab (basah) tegangan terukur pada kaki Collector-Emiter sebesar 5 Volt menunjukan kondisi saklar terbuka yang menyebabkan keran otomatis mengalirkan air.
Kata Kunci : ARDUINO, TANAMAN, TWITTER.ABSTRACT: Farming is believed as a quite simple hobby. Recently, many diverse instant processed fertilizers and growing media sold in the merchant plants. You simply adjust to the tastes and land, whether it was about to plant directly in the ground, put on a pot, put on walls, fences, and roofs. However, despite this fairly simple hobby, many people often forget to take care of it. For example, forgot to water your plants causes the plants to wilt and die. In fact, watering plants is one of the most important factors that affect the quality of the crops. This often happens because of the tight schedule of activities so that they forgot someone with plants were maintained.
This final project will create an Arduino-based tool that serves to inform the owner of the plant that the plant needs treatment that is often forgotten by its owner. In the design and realization, this tool will be created using Arduino and connecting to social networking "Twitter" which is almost everyone is using it nowadays.
The result of this project is that tweet was successfully sent from Arduino to plant’s owner twitter account in 10 times attempts and tweet was successfully give information about soil humidity. Success rate of this project is 100%. Average duration of delivery time of tweet from Arduino to twitter account is 2 seconds. When the sensor detects “dry” soil level, state Collector-Emitter’s foot measured 0.1 Volt, it shows the transistor works as an electronic switch, and when the sensor detects moisture conditions (wet) voltage measured on foot by 5 Collector-Emitter Volt shows that the switch opened which caused automatic faucet distributes water into the plant.
