ABSTRAKSI: Website Video On Demand (VOD) adalah aplikasi video streaming interaktif dimana para khalayak difasilitasi untuk memilih sendiri pilihan kategori video yang ingin ditonton. Pilihan program atau video bias berupa film, iklan, bahkan video buatan salah satu pengguna. Tidak hanya menonton video, para pengguna juga bias meng-upload serta menyimpan video favorit maupun mengunduh video tersebut.
Website Video On Demand pada umumnya menggunakan Flash Player sebagai media pemutar video mereka, serta codec berbayar atau bahkan bekerjasama dengan perusahaan codec tertentu untuk memfasilitasi website mereka agar semua video yang di upload bias diputar dengan media Flash Player. Perbedaannya disini adalah penggunaan versi HTML terbaru yaitu HTML 5 sebagai tambahan pemutar video yang tidak memerlukan tambahan aplikasi atau plugin tertentu untuk memutar video seperti halnya pada Flash Player, beserta codec open source tidak berbayar yang saat ini sedang dalam tahap pengembangan yaitu FFMPEG serta ditambahkannya fitur Live Streaming. Alasan masih dipakainya Flash Player dalam website ini adalah karena sampai sekarang tag video pada HTML 5 masih bergantung pada sudah support atau tidaknya browser yang digunakan pengguna dengan fitur tersebut serta desain media player tersebut juga sangat monoton yang juga masih bergantung pada masing-masing browser pengguna. Maka dari itu diambil kesimpulan bahwa pembuatan website VOD ini akan menggunakan media Flash Player dan HTML 5 sebagai pemutar video.
Dalam proyek akhir ini akhirnya dapat menghasilkan suatu website VOD dan Live Streaming yang diminati pengguna dan dijadikan sebagai sarana pertukaran informasi dan entertainment bagi penggunanya.Kata Kunci : VOD, Streaming, Website, RTMP, Red5 Media ServerABSTRACT: Website Video on Demand (VOD) is interactive video streaming application where people arefacilitated to choose video category option that they want to see by their self. Website Video on Demand generally use Flash Player as their video media player, and paid codec or even cooperate with one of specific codec company to facilitated their website so that all videos that have been uploaded can be played on media Flash Player. The differences here are the use of the latest version of HTML, HTML 5 as additional player that does not require any additional specific applications or plug-in to play videos as well in Flash Player, and free codec open source which is currently under development, FFMPEG, and the additional Live Streaming features. The reason of using Flash Player in this website is because until now the video tag in HTML 5 still depends on the user browser whether support or not with this feature and HTML 5 media player design is too monotone depends on each browser design. So that can be concluded that the making of this website will use media Flash Player and HTML 5 as video player.
This final project finally turn out into a VOD and Live Video Streaming Website that is interested by users and can be used as a means of exchange of information and entertainment for its users.Keyword: VOD, Streaming, Website, RTMP, Red5 Media Server
