ABSTRAKSI: Pada saat ini, pertumbuhan trafik layanan data terus meningkat dengan semakin berkembangnya penggunaan pelanggan mobile maupun fixed wireless access. Hal ini berdampak terhadap peningkatan volume trafik sms. Untuk menangani hal ini, dipilih jaringan SS7 yang memiliki fungsi dan kelebihan dibandingkan dengan sebelumnya. Penggunaan jaringan S7 dimaksudkan untuk dapat mengatasi perubahan permintaan data yang semakin cepat dan besar.
Untuk menangani permasalahan yang terjadi maka dipilih teknologi SIGTRAN yaitu ITP ( IP Transfer Point) sebuah standar protokol yang dikembangkan oleh IETF yang mampu menyalurkan trafik Signaling System No 7 (SS7) diatas jaringan IP. Teknologi ini juga disebut dengan IP Transfer Point (ITP) atau teknologi SS7oIP /SIGTRAN.
Pada proyek akhir ini peneliti mencoba untuk menguji kinerja dari aplikasi ini dalam penggunaan aplikasi MTU ( Map Test Utility). Penggunaan aplikasi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengiriman pesan yang terjadi pada layer MAP pada SS7 yang dilewatkan melalui jaringan SIGTRAN yaitu layanan M2PA ( MTP 2 Peer to Peer Adaptation Layer ).
Dari hasil percobaan yang telah dilakukan yang berperan penting yaitu terletak pada konfigurasi dari informasi point code antar perangkat. Selain itu, informasi link yang digunakan sangat berpengaruh pada kerja aplikasi ini. Aplikasi ini hanya bisa mengirimkan sebanyak 1023 pesan dengan jumlah karater tiap pesan yatiu 93 karakter.Kata Kunci : MAP, M2PA,MTU, MTR, SCTP, SS7, Sigtran.ABSTRACT: At this time, the growth data services continues to increase with the growing use of mobile subscriber and fixed wireless access. From the result of experiments that have been conducted which plays an important role is locatedon the configuration of point code information between devices. In addition, the information link that used to be very influential on the work of this application.
