ABSTRAKSI: Di dunia industri penggunaan alat instrumentasi merupakan hal yang penting dalam proses produksi suatu pabrik. Sejalan dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang semakin pesat, manusia selalu berusaha untuk menemukan suatu peralatan yang dapat mempermudah pekerjaan pada suatu proses. Air sungai adalah yang paling banyak digunakan pabrik untuk proses produksi yang akan disuplai ke instalasi pengolahan air bersih. Mengingat saat ini air sungai telah banyak tercemar akibat berbagai aktifitas manusia, maka diharapkan mampu mengolah air sungai menjadi air bersih yang memenuhi standar baku bersih. Untuk itu dibuatlah suatu alat yang dapat mengukur pH air untuk memperoleh batas baku mutu air sungai yang digunakan untuk proses produksi pembubukan kertas di pabrik.
Salah satu aplikasi dari alat-alat instrumentasi yang di pakai di pabrik pada IPAB yaitu dengan menggunakan pH meter yang berfungsi untuk mendeteksi keasaman dan kebasaan zat yang terkandung dalam air hasil proses produksi pabrik. Pada proyek akhir ini telah dirancang sistem pemantauan kontinyu terhadap pH pada Instalasi Pengolahan Air Bersih (IPAB) di PT. Papyrus yang berbasis mikrokontroler. Pada sistem ini, kondisi pH air akan terus di monitoring secara kontinyu. Sensor pH yang ada langsung terintegrasi dengan sistem minimum mikrokontroler, dan dipasang pada hasil proses IPAB supaya air yang telah di-mixing dapat digunakan sesuai standar baku bersih produksi.
Berdasarkan hasil uji coba selama 10 kali pengukuran dari sistem pemantauan secara kontinyu, hasil yang diperoleh dari pengukuran pH air sungai dengan rata-rata 7,83 dan dapat dikategorikan dalam kondisi netral. Sehingga air sungai yang diproses di PT. PSPM dapat mencapai standar kriteria air bersih yang dapat digunakan untuk proses produksi.Kata Kunci : IPAB, sensor pH, mikrokontroler, PT. At the moment, as developments increase science and technology growing rapidly, people are always trying to find or create an equipment to facilitate work on a process. Rioer water are the most used a factory to process of factory, it will supply to water treatment plant. At the moment rioer water was dirty effect various activity human, expectable to process rioer water tobe fresh water fill standart clean. For it was made an instrument that can measure the pH of water to obtain water quality standard limits used for paper production process at the plant pulverization.
One of the application of instrumentation tools used at the factory at the IPAB is using a pH meter s used to detect acidity and alkalinity of a substance contained in the water production process the factory. At the final project has been designed ph continues monitoring system to water treatment Plant (IPAB) in PT. Papyrus Sakti Paper Mill based on microcontroller. In this system, condition of water pH will continues monitoring with continuously. PH sensors are directly integrated with the system minimum microcontroller, it will be posted on the results of the IPAB so the water has been mixed can be used as standards for clean production.
Based on the test results for 10 times the measurement of a continuous monitoring system, the results obtained from pH measurements of river water with an average of 7.83 and can be categorized in the neutral condition.
