ABSTRAKSI: Twitter merupakan situs media sosial yang menempati urutan ke-2 mengenai popularitas di dunia 2 tahun belakangan ini setelah facebook. Faktanya, hampir seluruh pengguna ponsel di dunia sudah beralih menggunakan smartphone. Pengguna smartphone hampir bisa dipastikan merupakan pengguna twitter. Dengan fakta tersebut, penulis sebagai mahasiswa yang sedang mengambil matakuliah Proyek Akhir bermaksud untuk membuat sebuah alat pemberitahu yang di-input-kan melalui twitter. Hingga diputuskan LED Matriks digunakan sebagai output.
Sistem yang penulis buat salah satunya memanfaatkan layanan LBS (Location Based Service) sebagai input. Brand LBS yang digunakan adalah twitter. Dengan kata lain, sistem ini bersumber input dari dosen melalui akun twitter yang dibuka lewat gadget yang mereka genggam. Dosen secara sadar melakukan tweet yang berisi informasi tentang lokasi kebaradaan mereka atau informasi apapun yang ingin mereka sampaikan. Alat ini sederhananya ponsel melakukan tweet dan pada akhirnya bisa ditampilkan ke LED Matriks, yang sebelummnya informasi tersebut sudah melalui Backend Server dan Arduino (UNO dan Ethernet Shield).
Hasil yang telah dicapai dari alat ini ialah LED matriks mampu menampilkan karakter yang di-tweet-kan melalui akun twitter yang dibuat khusus. Dosen bisa memberitahu informasi melalui tweet yang tidak tergantung pada jarak dan kondisi (karena ponsel selalu dibawa-bawa pengguna dan biasanya terpasang layanan paket data). Sebagai contoh dosen bisa memberitahu deadline pengumpulan tugas, informasi jadwal bimbingan dsb. Kelebihan utama dari alat ini adalah input bisa dilakukan diseluruh aplikasi twitter yang terinstall di ponsel apapun itu, baik ponsel berbeda Operation System. Tinggal login saja. Bahkan apabila tidak tersedia aplikasi twitter, alat ini bisa diinputkan melalui web browser apapun.Kata Kunci : Arduino UNO, Ethernet Shield, LBS, Twitter, LED matrix, APIABSTRACT: Twitter is a social media that it has 2nd popularity after Facebook in the world on last 2 years. I created the system using the LBS (Location Based Service) as input. Twitter is one kind of LBS that i am using. In other words, this system consciously sourced input from faculty through the twitter account is opened through their gadgets. Lecturer consciously did tweet that contains information about their location or any information they want to tell. For the simple description, tweet via gadget and finally could be shown to LED Matrix display, which the information (tweet character) is through the Backend Server and Arduino (UNO and an Ethernet Shield) before.
Information is something important, so the tool is intended to be made as a conduit of information. Lecturers can tell any information does not depend on the distance and the condition (because the phone is always around the user and are usually attached packet data services). For example, a lecturer can tell deadlines gathering tasks, schedule information guidance etc. Twitter application can be played anywhere, included all gadget OS or all PC OS available in the world such as Apple phones, Android phones, Blackberry phones, and many more.Keyword: Arduino UNO, Ethernet Shield, LBS, Twitter, LED matrix, API
