ABSTRAKSI: Salah satu contoh aplikasi video on demand yang telah tersedia adalah aplikasi yang disediakan dari youtube (www.youtube.com). Youtube dapat diakses jika tehubung jaringan internet. Di internet tersedia juga beberapa aplikasi video on demand berbasis web. Beberapa diantaranya harus daftar sebagai member dengan biaya tertentu untuk dapat mengaksesnya.
Proyek akhir ini mencoba menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada dengan membangun aplikasi video on demand yang dapat diakses melalui jaringan lokal. Aplikasi video on demand ini berbasis web sehingga lebih mudah diakses oleh user jika dibandingkan dengan aplikasi. User tidak perlu menginstal aplikasi ini terlebih dahulu, aplikasi ini menggunakan fasilitas windows media player pada komputer user untuk memainkan video. Pengujian video on demand ini dilakukan pada jaringan lokal atau LAN(Local Area Network) dengan sebuah server sebagai penyimpanan data file video on demand. User browsing alamat web dari server video on demand ini. Jika user terhubung jaringan lokal dengan server dan server valid maka user dapat mengakses web video on demand. Proyek akhir Aplikasi Video on Demand Berbasis Web ini dibangun dengan menggunakan database MySQL dan bahasa pemrograman PHP.
Hasil analisis mampu menyediakan aplikasi video on demand yang dapat diakses melalui web dalam jaringan lokal.Kata Kunci : user, server, LAN.ABSTRACT: One of the available video on demand application is video on demand from youtube (www.youtube.com). Youtube can be accessed through the internet. There are some video on demand application on the internet. Some of them need to register as the member first with a fixed cost for the accessibility.
This last project tries to solve the problem with build video on demand which can be accessed through the local area network. This video on demand application is based on web, in order to be easier for users to be accessed compared with an application. User do not need to install this application, it requires windows media player’s facility on user’s personal computer to play the video. The experiments of video on demand application was did on the local area network with a server as as the video on demand’s database file. User browsed the video on demand’s website. If the user is connected to the local area network with the server adn the server was valid then user is able to access video on demand’ website. This final project Video on Demand Application Based on Web was built with MySQL as the database and PHP as the programming language.
The result of the analysis can provide a video on demand application which can be accessed through the web on the local area network.Keyword: user, server, LAN.
