The increasing disinformation related to land acquisition in the Nusantara Capital City
(IKN) project poses potential conflicts between the government and local communities,
requiring an effective communication strategy from the Nusantara Capital City Authority
(OIKN). This study aims to analyze the public relations (PR) management strategies
implemented by OIKN in addressing land-related disinformation and to assess their
effectiveness in mitigating conflict and building public trust. A qualitative approach with
a descriptive-exploratory method was employed. Data were collected through document
analysis, direct observation, and in-depth interviews with expert informants, key
informants from OIKN’s public relations team and affected residents, as well as
additional informants from the media. The findings indicate that OIKN’s PR strategy has
implemented two-way communication and media relations as the main measures to
counter disinformation. However, weaknesses remain in terms of information
transparency and the empowerment of participatory communication, which have hindered
the optimal reception of messages by all stakeholders. The study recommends
strengthening stakeholder collaboration, engaging local media, and involving community
leaders to accelerate the dissemination of accurate information. In conclusion, OIKN’s PR
strategy is on the right track, but requires further optimization in information openness
and public engagement to sustainably counter disinformation and maintain stable
relations between the government and the community.
